Questions and Answers

  • We understand that making a claim can be both difficult and stressful during an already emotional time. That’s why our claims process is simple and straightforward. Visit our claims page for more information on how to claim.

  • You can make a claim from the date of the insured person’s death. There will be some documentation required so please visit our claims page for more information.

  • Generally, claims are processed within 2 to 5 business days of receipt of the completed claim form and supporting documents. If the documentation is inconclusive, it may take longer. If this happens, we’ll ask you for extra information to process the claim quickly.

  • You can email us at fiftyupclaims@teacherslife.com or call us at 1-888-441-45581-888-441-4558 between 8am and 8pm ET, Monday to Friday.

  • You can designate up to five beneficiaries to receive payment of the Final Expenses Insurance Benefit Amount on your death. To do so you can call us at 1-844-339-96611-844-339-9661 or complete a beneficiary form. If no designation has been made, the proceeds will be paid either to a surviving policy holder (where applicable) or legal representative.

    • A fully completed claim form
    • Evidence of death of the person insured
    • Date of birth of the deceased
    • Evidence of claimant’s right to be paid
    • Name and age of any designated beneficiary, if applicable

  • A beneficiary is the person(s) entitled to your policy’s benefit. You have the option to designate up to five beneficiaries to receive a proportion of the Benefit Amount.

  • A will is a legal document that states how you want your assets to be distributed when you pass away. It's an important part of end-of-life planning to help ensure the people you love receive the assets you want them to, and that your last wishes are carried out the way you want.

  • An estate is the sum of a person’s assets – legal rights, interests, and entitlements to property of any kind – less all liabilities at that time.

  • Your executor is the person in charge of your estate and carrying out your wishes as set out in your will when you pass away.

  • We accept payment of premiums via Visa or MasterCard credit cards. We also accept payment by pre-authorized debit from your bank or credit union.

  • Once your claim is approved, we will ensure that that you receive all benefits payable under the policy. Upon receipt of the completed claim form and supporting documents, claims are generally paid within 2 to 5 business days depending on the method of reimbursement the claimant selects.
