    At age 85 you can choose to cancel your coverage to receive an early cash out 75% of your benefit amount. Or if you keep your policy active, once you reach age 90, we will stop charging you premiums, but you keep your coverage.

  • How much coverage you choose will depend on your individual needs when it comes to covering your funeral costs or other final expenses. With FiftyUp Final Expenses Insurance, you can choose a level of coverage that suits you from $3,000 up to $25,000.

  • If you would like to pay by credit card, we accept Visa or MasterCard. We also accept payment by direct debit from your bank or credit union.

  • You're covered for FiftyUp Final Expenses Insurance wherever you are in the world if you’re a Canadian resident and live in Canada, excluding residents of Quebec. However, you must not have plans to move internationally when you apply.

  • An "accidental death" is a death that happens solely because of an "accident," and within 90 days after the accident has happened. Read our Policy Document to understand more about how we define an accident.

  • Yes. FiftyUp Final Expenses Insurance has a 30-day cooling off period from the day your policy starts. If you cancel your policy in this period without having made a claim, we’ll give you a full refund of premiums paid. However, you won’t receive a benefit or have any premiums refunded if your coverage is cancelled after the 30-day cooling off period.

    If you’re 85 years of age or over when you cancel your coverage, you’ll be eligible for the Early Cash Out Option and receive 75% of your coverage amount paid to you. Note: as you’ve cancelled your policy, you’ll no longer be eligible to claim.

  • FiftyUp Final Expenses Insurance is provided by Teachers Life Insurance Society (Fraternal), a federally regulated insurance provider in Canada, established in 1939.

  • Yes, we created FiftyUp Final Expenses Insurance especially with your family in mind. You can choose to cover just your own life with single cover or cover yourself and your spouse or partner with a multi-life policy.

  • Yes, you can nominate someone to receive your insurance benefit by calling us or completing a beneficiary form. You can even choose to split the money between up to five beneficiaries.

    If you don’t choose anyone to receive your benefit, it will go to the policy owner. If that’s you, the benefit will be paid to your legal personal representative (usually your Estate) or to another eligible person in accordance with Canadian law.
